The space available on walls can be pretty tight, and there isn’t enough for polearm users here, so bear that in mind. On castle walls, archers can be the better option, due to troops being typically larger in number, and preferring to stay in a shorter range, while climbing your walls.Īnother recommendation is to use heavily armored units, and ones with fast, one handed weapons. Troop units have varying efficiency in wall defense during sieges. This requires you to recruit a fair amount of troops, train them increase their level, and place them there for maximum defense. But typically, garrisons can be huge, and can be two, three or four times the average size of your army. The maximum garrison size can vary from castle to castle, and is affected by many factors, the castle projects are one of them. These can be good starter troops, but you will also need to add your own as well. Before the vote for the castle owner is determined, the army leader who took the castle might put a small portion of his troops as part of the garrison. It's quite popular to 'section' areas so that the Keep is central and other areas are walled off, with walls between each section, making it so that if an attacker gets through a wall they still have another to get through. You will find it easier as you progress your Keep to defend better as you'll get more towers, walls and defenses. Think how you attack or look to attack - that bit of open ground tempting? Generally it'll be Fire Trapped. If you keep getting hit again and again (especially by the same players) it pays to watch replays to see if there is any pattern in attacks. As you have no overall control when being attacked you need to ensure your stores are hard to get and defended and the same with the Keep. The key to winning is for the enemy all to be dead before they reach 50% resources or stop them taking out the Keep.
